Currently, the Ebonyi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ngbo has three academic departments which offer the underlisted courses:
1. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Available courses under this department are
a. Environmental Health Technology Programme
This is a four-year programme leading to the award of HND (Higher National Diploma) in Environmental Health. A qualified person is addressed as Environmental Health Officer or Environmental Health Technologist.
2. DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH
Available courses under this department are:
a. Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) (Senior Cadre of CHEW or SCHEW)
This is a three-year programme leading to the award of National Diploma (ND) in Community Health. A qualified person is designated as Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) (Senior Cadre of CHEW or SCHEW).
b. Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW)
This is a two-year programme leading to the award of certificate in Community Health. A qualified person is designated as Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW).
3. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Available course under this department is:
a. Health Information Management Technician
This is a three-year programme leading to the award of National Diploma in Health Information Management. A qualified person is designated as Health Records Technician.
